Honestly, I don’t have anything catchy or formal to say about this piece. I wrote and recorded HerStory when I first moved to New York City for graduate school. At that time, I was struggling in the pits of depression, dissociation, and anxiety, and I was searching for a new therapist and a new psychiatrist to maintain my “treatment.” At the same time, I was also supposed to be creating monumental, career changing work during my 1st semester of art school (at least that was my expectation for myself). None of that felt possible.
The only thing I knew to do was to write. Writing has always been an effective means of communication for me. I wrote a bunch, recorded a bunch, and edited a bunch. HerStory is the product. Thanks for listening.
